I love edblocks and it ha sbeen an amazing tool to teach programming to younger kids, however being available only online can be an issue sometimes.
Are you guys planning to have an offline version of EdBlocks in the near future?

At this time, there is no offline or downloadable version of EdBlocks in development. As such, you do require an internet connection to use EdBlocks.
EdBlocks requires the code you program in the environment to be compiled to be downloaded into the Edison robot. To ensure the compiler works correctly across all platforms and keep costs such that we can deliver EdBlocks at no charge, delivering through an online solution is the best option for EdBlocks. This online solution also enables us to ensure that we are able to provide updates and improvements into the live system for all users on an ongoing basis.

Do you have an update on the possible release of offline versions of EdBlocks, EdScratch and EdPy?
They’re all great programming tools, but most of the venues we use either don’t have internet connectivity or it’s often unreliable if they do, so we can’t take the chance on bringing our Edisons.
We use EdWare, but even that’s no longer supported as an offline version, and the new applications are more appealing anyway.
Please consider the offline option, currently our Edison sets are mostly unusable because of this restriction.

I am sorry to hear that the Edison robots are unusable for your situation.
At this current time, there is no set release or scope for each of those languages.
I recommend signing up to our newsletter to get news on events like a release of an offline solution.
