My students are having trouble getting their robot to behave as desired. I have a question:

If I have multiple event handlers, (one for object ahead, a second for object to the right, and a 3rd for object to the left), when the robot detects an obstacle ahead, does it at the same time detect obstacles on both the left and right? If so, wouldn’t the program try to run all 3 functions referenced in the event handlers?

Hi

This one is a bit of a unique case.

Edison’s obstacle detector can really only obstacles on Left and Right.

Edison’s software then interprets seeing both obstacles on the Left and Right as seeing an obstacle in front.

This means Edison will always see an obstacle on one side before it see’s an obstacle on both sides (i.e. in front)

So Edison will start to run either the left or the right event before registering the obstacle ahead

Heads up

The Australian Federal Parliament has passed a law that extends goods and services tax (GST) to low value imports of physical goods imported by consumers from 1 July 2018.

This means that all customers purchasing Edison robots and accessories with an Australian shipping address must now pay GST. The GST will be automatically added to your purchase and show as a line item on your invoice.

We've detected that you are in Australia, so we wanted to let you know that we have changed your settings to view our Australian site, which displays GST inclusive pricing.
