We’re having a real hard time programming Edison V2.0. I can hear the modem in the speakers but nothing is coming out of the interface cable. I’m partially deaf, but it seems like we should be able to hear audio in the cable, too.

We power up, press the round button and both LEDs light. Press “program edison” and then press the button the popup. With speakers, we can hear audio. With the interface cable, nothing happens and the LEDs remain lit. How can we verify the proper operation of the interface cable?

Was USB not an option?

Hi Michael,

The cable itself does not make any noise. But when an Edison is receiving the program, the robot itself will make a buzzing noise.

I do believe the issues that you are facing can be solved but it may take a few questions. I would recommend contacting the support team to get help. They will need to know the brand and make of the device you are using to program the Edison. As well as the programming language (EdScratch, EdBlocks etc.)

Most likely an issue with your sound card driver. I usually have one student who has difficulty turning off enhancements like Dolby.

Heads up

The Australian Federal Parliament has passed a law that extends goods and services tax (GST) to low value imports of physical goods imported by consumers from 1 July 2018.

This means that all customers purchasing Edison robots and accessories with an Australian shipping address must now pay GST. The GST will be automatically added to your purchase and show as a line item on your invoice.

We've detected that you are in Australia, so we wanted to let you know that we have changed your settings to view our Australian site, which displays GST inclusive pricing.
