Hello,

I am working on ‘Event wait’ icon, but I cannot really understand the function of ‘Drive-Strain detected’.

I tried to test it in a simple way, such dual drive forward until drive-Strain detected, but nothing happened.

I would appreciate if you someone can give me a simple explanation or program so to understand.

Thanks in advance,

Dem

Hi Dem

I have done some testing using this code: http://www.edwareapp.com/share/gRAin

On an Edison V2.0 it works as expected.

On an Edison V1 it does not work.

Edison V1 is an older model Edison and does not support all the same features as Edison V2.0

Hello Ben!

thanks for your reply. I have an Edison V2.0, but again nothing is happened.

So maybe, I haven’t understand the meaning of strain.

Your program above asks from Edison to drive forward (speed 10) until….?? what is the case?

Thanks in advance,

Dem

Hi Dem

Drive strain means the motors are struggling to move.

If you download my program, hold the Edison in the air and press the triangle button the wheels will start moving.

If you then grab one of the wheels and try to stop it. The motors will “strain” trying to keep the wheel at the right speed and the program will end

Hey Ben!

I managed to make it work!

Yes, indeed, it needs a lot of ‘strain’ to end the program!

Thanks again!

Dem

Heads up

The Australian Federal Parliament has passed a law that extends goods and services tax (GST) to low value imports of physical goods imported by consumers from 1 July 2018.

This means that all customers purchasing Edison robots and accessories with an Australian shipping address must now pay GST. The GST will be automatically added to your purchase and show as a line item on your invoice.

We've detected that you are in Australia, so we wanted to let you know that we have changed your settings to view our Australian site, which displays GST inclusive pricing.
