I have a HP Elite book laptop and I can’t get a program to run once it is downloaded – I keep getting the “fail” sound.
I have checked the instructions and followed them carefully. I was wondering if it has something to do with the audio settings as I cannot find any enhancements section to deactivate.

Your programming issues may be caused by sound enhancement software on the computer you are using.
Can you please confirm that ‘disable all enhancements’ is ticked as per the image here https://meetedison.com/robot-activities/youre-a-robot-programmer/installing-edware
If the disable sound enhancements box is already ticked and you are still experiencing issues, there is a chance that your PC might have other applications which have sound enhancements installed.
These applications can be found via the Control Panel by selecting ‘Hardware and Sound’.
Have a look in Hardware and Sound for any other software application with a name that suggests it is used for sound settings. Common applications include ‘Dell Sound’, ‘SRS Sound enhancement’, ‘HP Audio’, ‘DTS’ and ‘Dolby’.
If you find one of these applications, open it and check for any settings that include sound enhancements. These may be under a section called something like ‘Listening Experience’ or in the ‘Advanced Settings’ section. If you find any sound enhancements, please turn them off.
