I’ve had success programming edison with sample programs from this website and by creating new ones using EdWare.  Loading the programs using the audio cable has been reliable.

However, when I add a variable function such as “+1 Plus Count” then I get the error message “Server couldn’t create a WAV file for your program”.  This is a repeatable problem and when I remove the “+1 Plus Count” function then the error message goes away and I’m able to load the program.

Is this a known problem?  Is there something wrong with my program and this is how EdWare tells me that there is a logic error?

The “add topic” tool for this website doesn’t allow me to attach a picture of the program.  The program is a loop containing an if/then statement triggered by a clap.  If a clap is detected  then a variable called “#claps” is incremented by one using “+1 Plus Count” and the left LED flashes a number of times equal to “#claps”.  The program works if I remove the “+1 Plus Count” function and turn on the LED.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Thomas

Please try removing the number sign from the variable name, dropping it back to “claps”

If that doesnt work, please log in to EdWare online, save your code and post the share code in your response so I can have a look at it

Heads up

The Australian Federal Parliament has passed a law that extends goods and services tax (GST) to low value imports of physical goods imported by consumers from 1 July 2018.

This means that all customers purchasing Edison robots and accessories with an Australian shipping address must now pay GST. The GST will be automatically added to your purchase and show as a line item on your invoice.

We've detected that you are in Australia, so we wanted to let you know that we have changed your settings to view our Australian site, which displays GST inclusive pricing.
