Edisons not reading barcodes

We have had our Edisons a short time. We bought them to introduce robotics to our students but we have had continual problems.

1. They read barcodes to begin with but then problems [lots of them]started occurring. Now they just go forward when you press the triangle button, they won’t allow you time to press the triangle three times so programming with barcodes is impossible.

2. We tried programming them with Ed blocks and yes they will do this BUT they still won’t read barcodes after being programmed. 

We’ve changed batteries, cleaned them and nothing works, so frustrating……. Please can anyone help!

Hi Dawn,

Sorry to hear the frustration. 

When you want the Edison robots to read barcodes it is not the triangle button you need to click 3 times. It is the circle record button you must click 3 times.
