record button not responding

We recently purchased 10 Edison robots. One of our robots is not responding when trying to reset using the bar code. When the round record button is pressed 3 times, nothing happens. We tried removing the wheels and moving it manually as suggested, but the robot fails to read the bar code. We have replaced the batteries.

We have also tried using the cable to use Edblocks and Edscratch. When the record button is pressed, it beeps and both lights turn on. We program it and it appears to take the program as we hear the correct sounds. When we press play, the lights just flash and it does not move. We have tried loading several of the demo programs that work fine with the same cord on our other robots.

Please advice us as to what else we can try.

Thank you,

Hi Vicki,

Thanks for trying those steps already, and explaining them clearly in your post.

This sounds like there may be an issue with this specific Edison robot. Can you please submit this query through our support contact form here: (feel free to copy-paste your post as the query text)

I’ll respond to your query with some simple checks and tips to either get the Edison robot working perfectly, or issue a replacement.

Heads up

The Australian Federal Parliament has passed a law that extends goods and services tax (GST) to low value imports of physical goods imported by consumers from 1 July 2018.

This means that all customers purchasing Edison robots and accessories with an Australian shipping address must now pay GST. The GST will be automatically added to your purchase and show as a line item on your invoice.

We've detected that you are in Australia, so we wanted to let you know that we have changed your settings to view our Australian site, which displays GST inclusive pricing.

OK got it!    Take me to the GLOBAL SITE instead
