Product Repair Guide
At Microbric we fully support the ‘Right to Repair’ movement, also known as the Extended Producer Responsibility (or ERP for short). ERP refers to supporting consumers to repair or have their products repaired after the manufacturer’s warranty has expired.
We believe that by supporting the Right to Repair movement, it provides customers with additional confidence when making a purchasing decision as well as helping the environment with too many repairable products making their way to landfill.
In addition, learning a new skill, like repairing a damaged product yourself, provides valuable problem solving skills and the ongoing joy of knowing you had a hand in bringing a product back to life!
Edison V3 robot repair information
This guide is to assist anyone repairing an Edison V3 robot that has developed a fault either through a non-warranty breakage or is outside the warranty period.
Many of the repair processes in this guide can be completed by someone with minimal repair experience, however some repairs require equipment (such as a fine soldering iron) and experience or qualifications with electronic repair (service professional).
This guide is provided in good faith in the hope that it allows Edison V3 robots to be repaired and saved from landfill. The repair advice in this guide is not guaranteed to be easy or successful.
Troubleshooting and repairing are great skills to have. We hope that you develop these skills in this process and feel the joy of having made something work again!
