About this lesson
Year 2 – Year 6
Introduce the key computational concepts of inputs and outputs using Edison robots and the block-based programming language EdBlocks. This lesson utilises the Edison robot’s drive function through a set of progressive programming tasks. Creating programs for the Edison robot to ‘trace’ (ie. drive in the pattern of) the Euler path shape mazes of their choice requires the application of sequential thinking and an understanding of the input-process-output cycle.
This 1-hour lesson is designed to allow students to work independently as they discover:
- What is a Euler path?
- What is an input?
- What is an output?
- Pattern recognition.
