Welcome to your EdVenture with Edison robots!

Congratulations on becoming the proud owner of Edison. We are so excited for you to begin your coding and robotics journey.
On this page you will find information to get you set up and on your way to an exciting STEAM EdVenture using Edison!
The Edison robot is a powerful, fun and engaging tool for teaching computational thinking, computer programming and robotics. The information on this page will help you to get the most out of Edison, including all of the robot’s built-in sensors, outputs and motors. Remember, Edison is a tool designed to introduce you to the amazing world of coding and robotics – don’t forget to have fun!
Getting started with Edison begins with learning about your robot’s capabilities and setting up your device for programming fun.

Barcodes
Barcode programming is a great place for everyone to start their Edison robot journey. Suitable for ages 4+, you can have Edison avoiding obstacles or following a flashlight in seconds using these special barcodes – no coding experience necessary!
Coding
Edison can be programmed using any of our educational robot programming languages. You can easily use the same Edison robot with different languages – just open the programming software application you want, connect your Edison and get started!
Lessons
From coding to computational thinking to STEM, Edison makes learning fun and engaging. With lesson plans, project ideas, activity sheets and teacher guides all available free to download, no matter what you are teaching, our resources can help each step of the way.
Inputs, outputs and sensors
Without sensors, robots are helpless (and a little useless). Sensors let robots detect and respond to the world around them. Learn about each of Edison’s various parts, including what each one is, what it does, why it is important, and how you can use it with your students.
Hour of Code
These fun activities are a great place to build enthusiasm and start teaching coding with Edison. The self-contained activities are perfect for beginners, anyone looking for a stand-alone activity or those unsure about which coding language is right for their class.
EdCreate
Make computational thinking, problem-solving and inventing tangible with EdCreate. Designed to work with the Edison robot, EdCreate enriches students’ STEM education experience through interactive engineering and programming projects.
No matter where your EdVenture takes you, we’re here for your journey.
Professional development training
Keeping up your professional development, especially for technology topics, can feel like a big task. That’s why we work with organisations that offer training on Edison around the globe. If you’re looking for a helping hand to assist with introducing Edison into your classroom or are keen to learn how Edison robots can tie into your curriculum, these independent trainers are here to help!
