Edison V2
What do Edison V2 and Edison V3 mean?
Edison Version 2 (also known as Edison V2 and pictured on the right) was a previous model of the Edison robot which was produced between 2016-2023.
Edison V2 requires 4 AAA batteries to be inserted into the back of the robot, and is programmed using the EdComm cable (which plugs into your devices headphone jack).
Edison Version 3 (also known as Edison V3) is the current model of the Edison robot released in January 2024. This version of Edison is currently the only version available for sale at www.meetedison.com.
Edison V3 has a built-in rechargeable battery and is programmed using the USB cable which is attached to the underside of the robot.
What version of Edison do I have?
The easiest way to tell which model of Edison you have is to look in the bottom right corner, next to circle button, to see which version you have (as shown below).

For Edison V2 robots, you can also reference if the robot has a battery door located at the back of the robot.
For Edison V3 robots you can also confirm if it has a USB cable for programming and charging at the base of the device.
