We have a number of edison bots at our school. All were working fine, now a couple have 1 wheel that will not rotate.

I’ve tried calibrating them. Is there anything else I can do?wink

Hi Karen,

Thanks for trying calibrating them already, that is the best place to start if any Edison bot isn’t driving straight.

There will be further steps we can recommend, but they will depend on the robot. Could you contact us at , and include the serial number of each robot? (found in the battery compartment). We’ll then be able to give you advice specific to your robots.

I’ve generally found odd issues such as wheel not turning or sensors not working or not programming due to the batteries are low. One wheel wasn’t turning, only runs for 3 seconds then stops, unable to program edison, etc.. Try replacing the battery first and try again.

I’ve had success cleaning the contacts on the motor and circuit board then bending the motor contacts slightly up. Make sure there is a little silicon grease on the wheel axle as well.

The other doozy is the encoder has a very tight position between falling off and jamming against the plastic bar. Make sure it rotates freely before screwing the circuit board back.

Heads up

The Australian Federal Parliament has passed a law that extends goods and services tax (GST) to low value imports of physical goods imported by consumers from 1 July 2018.

This means that all customers purchasing Edison robots and accessories with an Australian shipping address must now pay GST. The GST will be automatically added to your purchase and show as a line item on your invoice.

We've detected that you are in Australia, so we wanted to let you know that we have changed your settings to view our Australian site, which displays GST inclusive pricing.
